The Mighty Mighty Titan

He did it!  Matt bought a Nissan Titan!  I could not be happier for him.  I can't think of anyone else more deserving!  Don't worry, he still kept the jeep. His hope is to get the jeep back into shape and then use it like a jeep was meant to be used.

Without further ado, here's Ryley presenting his dad's new Titan!

 Nissan Titan SE
I can't wait till I'm old enough to drive!
The middle console folds up to make a bench seat!
Lots of room in the cozy back seat! (Aren't I handsome?)
Back seat even folds up so I can lay down and take naps on long trips to visit family!
Not the most comfortable bed I've laid on but my dad likes it.
Hope you enjoyed the tour around the truck!
 See you on the road!

Welcome Spring!

It was a sunny and successful first weekend of spring!
Weekend Highlights:
Ryley got new tennis balls and played outside all weekend long!  At times, he was content to just sit in the sun and watch the world go by.
We visited dealerships and test drove/fell in love with this monster truck.
Nissan Titan = BAMF

My bracket is doing pretty well.  I'm behind Matt by one point and beating Jon by six points.  If I win I get a day at the spa!
We found a new "hole-in-the-wall" sports bar to watch the game and chow down on nachos and wings!
 Humphrey's Sports Bar and Grille
Matt was excited that we were able to keep our 23oz. glasses too!
Thanks to St. Joseph, we HAD to gorge ourselves with zeppoles and cannolis!
Poor Ryley had a hard time resisting.
And, of course, no trip to the Italian bakery would be complete without a few rainbow cookies!
If at this point you are thinking that we probably didn't have the most healthy weekend and we didn't quite follow our diet plans, you are right! But we enjoyed every second and every last little crumb!  We also figured that before Week 4 starts, we'd better end Week 3 the right way. Chipotle got the job done!

Good-bye Week 3. You were wonderful while you lasted.
Week 4, be nice to me.

Spring is in the Hair!

After this long, treacherous winter I was definitely feeling motivated to jump start spring! Along with my 30 Day Challenge, I decided to chop my hair off!  I needed something new and lighter.  I just told my stylist to cut it off and give me lots of layers and angles. Here's what I got -
I think it's the first time I feel like I got a "big girl hair cut." So far I like it, but we'll see what happens when it goes curly!

The 30 Day Challenge - Week 3

As Bon Jovi would say, "Woooooah, we're half way there!"
Two weeks down, two weeks to go bebe!

Now that I am finally done with report cards I can blog again!
Here's a little recap:
Week 1: It was tough. I was tired, cranky, hungry and sore.
Week 2: AMAZING! Following a meal plan and eating well became easier and I tackled the workouts like a champ.
Week 3: I had/have some tough hurdles this week - Report cards were due, St. Patty's Day and St. Joseph's Day are not diet friendly and the temperatures are back up in the 60s.

Needless to say, I don't know how the week is going to end.  After Week 2, I lost five pounds and firmed up my muscles from head to toe.  I hope I can keep this streak going!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The 30 Day Challenge - Week 2

When I went into school this morning, there was a pile of girl scout cookie boxes on my desk!  I had no idea I would be starting this diet plan when I ordered them weeks ago.  How am I going to make it three more weeks without eating any cookies? Help!

In an effort to try to put them out of my mind, here's the breakdown of what I seem to be eating on a daily basis. It's an easy meal plan to implement but I need to figure out how to add more calories.
Maybe I'll just have to start eating girl scout cookies to boost up my numbers!  Speaking of, Matt and I did have a cheat meal this week and it was so worth it!  We indulged in big, juicy burritos from Chipotle.  Our buy one, get one coupon made it even tastier!

The 30 Day Challenge - Week 1

Week 1 was a huge success!  Matt was such a big help, encouraging and motivating me along the way. I woke up to this note on my frying pan the first morning. I love him!
I learned a lot this week about picking the right foods to eat to reach my goals in calories, proteins and carbs.  The hardest part of the week was actually trying to eat enough calories! Who knew that would be so hard! The biggest help has been tracking my daily intake on My Plate. Even though it does take an extra few minutes, tracking helps me feel more confident about my food choices and helps me stay away from bad choices I don't want to post on my plate.

Tomorrow I'll post another chart of meals for the week. P90X has also been excellent! Oddly enough, I love feeling sore and it gives me back so much more energy in my day.

Rainy Day Art Show

Ryley has the rainy day blues. He's staring longingly out the window, wishing the sun would come out to play.
To cheer us up, here's some photographs of my sister's amazing artwork! Get ready to be amazed!

This is a mosaic of tiny pieces of magazine paper she cut! Oh and it's poster size!

I honestly never knew she had all of this talent! It's almost like one day she decided, "I like art. Let's draw something." It just comes so naturally to her. Amazing Cat! Thanks for the show! Keep them coming!
