11 of '11

So my December Photo Project didn't end up quite as planned.  I should have known the week before Christmas was going to get hectic. 18 out of 25 isn't too shabby, though.  We had an amazing Christmas and wrapped up 2011 with some great family and friends.

Here's a look back at our top 11 of 2011!

2011 started by dumping massive amounts of snow on us!
Poor Matt had to dig us out of four feet of wet, heavy snow.
Luckily, the year got much better after this!
 Matt bought a Nissan Titan!
I love a man in a truck.
My Ryley boy turned two!
He's the happiest, most handsome and playful puppy I know.
Nana and Pop took the entire family to Disney World and spoiled us rotten!
Cat graduated high school in style with a Great "Cat"sby Going Away Party!
Loved dressing up in '50s garb!
We bought our first home!!!
Clearly one of the happiest moments of my life.
I started a new job at an amazing school that is much closer to home! It was hard saying good-bye to my teaching buddies at my last school but my new friends have made the transition easy for me.
My brother-in-law got married and we had a blast at the wedding!
A nor'easter slammed Connecticut in late October, leaving us with no electricity for four days and no school for a week!  Look at our poor trees bending and snapping from the weight of the snow.  Those branches normally stand up straight! I cringe thinking about the recovery from this storm.
Thomas ended his college soccer career!
This one brings a tear to my eye, as corny as that sounds.
I don't like us getting old...
We are so grateful to have amazing parents who live to make sure the smile on our faces never fades.
They surprised shocked us by buying us all iPads and Joey an iMac!

2011 brought such happiness! It was really hard to narrow down just eleven unforgettable memories.  This blog helped me realize how lucky I am to have an amazing husband, puppy, family and friends to enjoy and celebrate every milestone, accomplishment and ordinary day of my life.
Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us!

DPP - Dec. 17

December 17 - He Becomes a Little Boy with His Old Toy Trains
Tommy's Trains in Wethersfield was packed floor to ceiling with every train part imaginable! This shop is a dream come true for train enthusiasts but an absolutely nightmare for organized, clutter-free people like me. Next time I walk in there I am going to offer Tommy my time to help him spruce up the shop! Besides thinking about how I could make this shop look better, I also enjoyed people watching while we were there. All grown men fulfilling their child-like, EXPENSIVE obsession.
Weird, but kind of cute.
Fortunately, Matt didn't have to spend hundreds thousands on his train set. His entire collection was passed down to him from his grandfather. He spent hours laying everything out and tacking down the tracks with these tiny little nails. Let's hope everything works! Keep your fingers crossed!

December 16 - Cozy Night on the Capri Chair
He must be one of the most photogenic puppies in the entire world! More than half of my DPPs have been of him! But I just can't help it!
